backgammon deconstruction

space.
The game is played on a board that has 4 quadrants with six triangles pointing to the other side, so there are 24 triangles all together. The board is also divided down the center by what is known as the bar.
The playing peaces more down the triangles witch are numbered at the bottom. Only 5 pieces can fit on a triangle without going over it, but you are allowed to put as manny pieces on a triangle as you would like(by stacking them).

The goal of the game, the objective
The object of the game is to move all of your pieces off the board before your opponent, in essence it is a racing game. This is called barring off.
the players state of knowledge is how many moves it will take to win
The unknown knowledge is what you will role but the strategy lies in what you do with is information that is given to you with the best possible move.

Actions
You role the dice, and you get to move however many spaces you rolled.
There are 2 dice, you may move one pice by the number of each die added up or move one pice the number you rolled with one die and move an another pice the number you landed on with the other die.
If you roll a double number like too sixes then your moves are doubled so you have 2 6s then you would move your 12 spaces then another 12 spaces.
if you land on a space with only on of the opponents pieces on it then that players piece gets sent to the bar, if this happens then each turn you roll the dice to see were you can put your pieces way back at the beginning but you can not put your pice on a spot if your opponents pice is their, if you are unsuccessful in being able to put your pice at the beginning do to having it land on a triangle controlled by your opponent then your turn is skipped, for exp. red has control of the number 1,2 and number 5 triangles and i roll a 2 and 5 my turn would be skipped.

Rules
Players roll to see who goes first the highest roll wins.
The set up may not change and you are always moving clockwise
If you roll a double first turn then you must re-roll
To remove a piece from the board then your roll must be that exact amount of spaces, exp. if your last pice is 4 spaces away and you roll a six then you cannot move you pice off the board.

skills players learn

players learn how to make the best possible choice with the circumstances that are given
a simple lesson of how risk and reward and developing strategies such as trying to slow down the player or just try to push through to the end.
